The ACHA Cadets are a fully sanctioned team at Norwich University. The team is managed by a group of officers, all of whom are players, who receive input from the rest of the team. These positions include President, Treasurer, Secretary, Public Relations Director and Assistant Public Relations Director. Each player pays yearly dues in order to pay for refs, transportation, league fees and other parts of the operating budget. The team also operates through funding from the Student Government, The Pritzker Grant and other various sponsorships.

 

The team competes in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division 2. The ACHA is the national governing body for club hockey in the United States. The ACHA hosts a National Tournament every year for each of it’s three levels as well as four regional qualifying tournament per level. The ACHA Cadets are also a member of the Northeast Collegiate Hockey Association (NECHA), a very competitive hockey league in New England.

 

The ACHA Cadets play a 18-20 game schedule against their NECHA opponents as well as other opponents from New England. The team is competitive and tryouts are held in October of each school year and at the beginning of second semester if necessary.
